The translation by Anurag Yadav is extremely unique and inspiring. He uses many Hindi words mixed in English. They are in Italic, easy to identify, and make the readers wonder what they are. The readers are drawn to the culture in India. The meanings are deducible most of the time. Even without a dictionary, I can tell "anna" is a currency unit, "lathi" is like stick or the long bar people in India use when they make a long trip, "Chillum" must be a pipe for smoking or a kind of cigar common in India.... Through this translation, I could feel the original culture much more effectively through five senses. I googled some words and learned authentic Indian foods , games, clothing, tents, etc. What an adventurous way of reading a Hindi book! However, do not buy the Kindle edition. As far as I can see from "Look Inside", these words are not in Italic. So, it's harder to appreciate these authentic words thoughtfully transposed into the English translation. I guess they are fixing it now.
