About The Authors
Laurence L. Brunton is a lecturer of Pharmacology and Medicine at the UCSD School of Medicine. He acquired his B.A. degree in the discipline of Biochemical Sciences from Harvard University in the year 1969. Brunton also holds a Ph.D in Molecular Pharmacology, which he obtained from the University of Virginia in the year 1976, under the mentorship of A. G. Gilman. He did his postdoctoral research (1976-1980) under S. E. Mayer’s mentorship, in the discipline of Cardiovascular Pharmacology from the UCSD. Brunton was awarded several honorary titles like the Teacher of the Year (2007) by Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. He was elected as a member of the National Academy of Medicine, Mexico, in the year 2007.
Bruce A. Chabner is the Director of Clinical Research at the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center and a veteran professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Apart from this book, he authored many other books like Harrison's Manual Of Oncology, Cancer Chemotherapy And Biotherapy: Principles And Practice, and Pharmacologic Principles Of Cancer Treatment. Chabner has a panoptic knowledge in the subject of development and the invention of drugs related to cancer.
Bjorn Christian Knollmann is an experienced university professor of Medicine and Pharmacology at the Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee. Knollmann holds an M.D. from the University of Cincinnati. He also holds a Ph.D in the discipline of Pharmacology from the well known Georgetown University. Knollmann was Georgetown University’s Division Chief of Clinical Pharmacology. He also has a board-certificate in the subjects of Clinical Pharmacology and Internal Medicine.
