The present book Volume IV of Advanced Organic Chemistry has been primarily written for fifth semester students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Chemistry of University of Delhi. It covers all the units of Paper 18 of Organic Chemistry IV and the Biochemistry units of paper 20. The Biochemistry part of paper 20 is extension of the chapters covered in paper 18. Therefore, these two papers have been covered in Volume IV of the present text book. The topics have been developed in a logical manner. It is expected that the book would be quite useful and meet the requirements of students and teachers alike. About the Author: S P Bhutani

Dr. S.P. Bhutani, a brilliant academician and recipient of Prof. R.P. Mitra Gold Medal in M.Sc. from University of Delhi, completed his Ph.D. in 1968 on the Chemistry of Natural Products from University of Delhi. Dr. Bhutani has taught Organic Chemistry to B.Sc. General and Hons. classes at Rajdhani College, University of Delhi for more than 37 years. He is author of nine other books on organic chemistry for graduate students. He has also to his credit a number of research publications in Indian and Foreign journals
