he Litigators is a legal-thriller written by bestselling author John Grisham. The story is about a small, two-partner law firm as it attempts to strike it big in an action lawsuit over a drug produced by one of the major pharmaceutical companies.
Summary of the Book
Oscar Finley and Wally Figg are the partners of a boutique law firm based in the southern part of Chicago. They specialize in quickie divorces and DUIs and are on a constant look-out for their big break. After having worked together for over two decades, Oscar Finley and Wally Figg bicker like a married couple but somehow manage to make a decent living from their not-so-prosperous law firm. But the protagonist of the story is David Zinc, a young, Harvard Law School graduate and a big law firm burnout who comes across this boutique law firm.
In the meanwhile, Wally Figg attends one of his former estate client’s funeral only to find that the client's son claims that his father was killed by Krayoxx, a cholesterol-lowering drug developed by the pharmaceutical giants, Varrick Labs. Oscar and Wally are ecstatic at the possible monetary returns on the case, and with David Zinc on board, they have very good chances of winning this one. But what will David do when he finds out that he is litigating against his old law firm in this case?
