Multimedia provides a comprehensive view of the current research and development areas in multimedia in the U.S., the Far East, and Europe.
Summary Of The Book
Aimed at engineers, programmers, and computer scientists, Multimedia highlights the behaviour of different media, data compression processes in respect of multimedia, and operating system support. The book features discussions on the development of the individual components of a multimedia system, which include hardware aspects. Other areas of discussion include computer technology, and network and communication systems support.
Concepts such as basic sound, image and graphics, video and animation, data compression, optical storage media, user interfaces, synchronization, and multimedia applications are discussed. Presented as a reference book, Multimedia features possible practical implementation and allows the further exploration of the discussed concepts without extensive previous study.Since its first publication in 1995, Multimedia has been the authoritative resource for American and European universities.
