Summary of the Book

Josef Weber, retired teacher and Little League coach, has not shown himself to anyone for several years, until recently. To his local community, he is the one they all look up to. However, he has a secret that he has never told anyone about: he is a murderer too. Now, he has decided to tell just one person about this, Sage Singer. Sage is devastated when she hears this and it changes everything she has known and believed. Josef was the first person that she had befriended when she became a part of the community. Now, she is not too sure of what to believe and if she should feel a sense of betrayal. Is it possible for someone to commit a heinous crimes, but still be capable of good?
