The Afghan by Frederick Forsyth

The Afghan, by Frederick Forsyth, is a thought-provoking thriller on modern terrorism. In this story, the MI6, the CIA, and ISI come together to investigate the cryptic al-Isra, a code name for an intended terrorist attack.

Summary of the Book

The British and American Intelligence Services find an obscure document concerning a planned terrorist outbreak. The al-Isra, being a catchphrase, stimulates the intelligence agencies to probe further. Anxious to know more, the agencies rush to dig up data from diverse sources. They even send a spy to the closest terror networks so that they can simply discover a hint to al-Isra, but all these plans go futile. And although al-Qaeda is already done with their plan of attack, the Intelligence still has no clue about it. What will be their next plans? Where and when is the al-Qaeda planning to attack? Will the intelligence agencies be successful in stopping them? Frederick Forsyth’s work is a page-turner with extraordinary detail and compulsive spectacle. The Afghanis regarded as a sequel to his book, The Fist of God, another suspense novel.
