Summary of the Book
The Family is a novel that stresses on the importance of family and blood relation. The author, Mario Puzo, has already told us what family means with his novel, The Godfather. This story give us a much stronger meaning to family and tells us the story of the greatest crime family that existed in Italy-The Borgias. Many secrets of the Mafia have been revealed and readers will be taken to fifteenth century Rome as they turn the pages of this book. Throughout the story, one can see ranges of human emotion, romance, betrayal and even murder. The story revolves around Rodrigo Borgia, Pope Alexander VI, a man who is consumed by his love for his family with everything else falling shortly behind. The novel is said to have been finished by Mario Puzo’s longtime girlfriend, Carol Gino.
