Set in modern day USA and South America, this highly suspenseful thriller revolves around a motley crew of CIA men, scientists and US rangers who venture into the Amazon to explore and expose a dark, perilous secret that has been kept under wraps for a long time.
Summary Of The Book
Amazonia commences with a man stumbling out of the formidable Amazonian rainforest into a village, grievously wounded, mutilated and balancing precariously on the edge of life and death. The villagers refuse to treat him once they see an esoteric marking on the man's chest. Their highly superstitious disposition leads to the man’s inevitable death, after which his body is sent to America for identification. The body is identified as that of Special Agent Clark, but the perplexing truth of the matter remains that Clark had ventured into the Amazon as a handicapped individual. He had lost one of his arms previously, and the body they pinpointed as his had both arms intact.
Not surprisingly, this created quite a stir in Washington and a special task force is dispatched to find a Dr. Nathan Rand. Dr. Rand, with his vast knowledge of the Amazon jungle, had previously lost both his parents to it when they decided to explore the vast jungle in search of the elusive ‘Blood Jaguar Tribe’. Now, this special team is sent to solve the conundrum revolving around Special Agent Clark’s body. What they don’t know, however, is that they’re trying to uncover an age-old enigma that the indigenous tribals have tried very hard to keep hidden, and their very lives hang in the balance.
Amazonia, with its fast-paced layout, is a page-turner filled with intrigue, adventure and mounting suspense that is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.
