MBA At 16: A Teenager’s Guide To Business is a book for teenagers dealing with the functionality of a business entity.
Summary Of The Book
Subroto Bagchi’s MBA At 16: A Teenager’s Guide To Business presents a business guide for teenage readers. Designed to be a young people’s guide, it unleashes the true picture of the business world. Teenagers who have always been curious to know how a business entity works will find this book quite interesting and informative.
Many of the leading businessmen started their businesses when they were young adults. Steve Jobs met Stephen Wozniak at the age of sixteen and together they produced Apple. The founders of Google, Sergey Brin and Larry Page, were in their early twenties when they met at Stanford. Today’s generation will be tomorrow’s consumers, managers, investors, and entrepreneurs.
These teenagers, who dream of leading a business, are often confronted with various questions. What is the business world all about? How does a business touch lives? What are the key character traits of a successful entrepreneur? How does a company run? This book answers these questions and more.
MBA At 16: A Teenager’s Guide To Business covers various aspects of raising funds from angel investors, venture capitalists, nuances of supply-chain management, difference between the sales and marketing department, importance of advertising, worth of true leadership, and many others. One of the most important features of this book is that all the aspects of fundraising are explained from the point of view of a teenager of Urban India.
Bagchi organized workshops in Bangalore that included select students from National Public School. The aim of these workshops was to figure out what these teenage students wished to know about business. Though the situations and conversations included here are fictional, the characters of the book are drawn from the actual students. Additionally, there are a few imaginary characters such as Fly High, Cyber the Dog and Polar.
MBA At 16: A Teenager’s Guide To Business does not teach how to crack the CAT exam. It does not even inform how one can acquire an MBA degree. On the contrary, it is a book specifically for teenage readers to help them know what goes on in a business entity on a day-to-day basis.
